maltaNET has today announced that in the first 6 months of 2004 an overall turnover of LM268,423 of Internet transactions have passed over its e-payment platform. This is a 100% growth over the same period last year.

maltaNET's e-payment gateway is the leading e-commerce engine in Malta, providing transaction clearing to a number of local and international customers. It also handles all e-government transactions. Commenting about this success, CEO Keith Fearne stated "At maltaNET we have over the last years been investing in secure online transaction systems which are reliable and secure. Today we are seeing traffic increasing on a monthly basis, with subscribers realising that as long as you are transacting with people you trust, then e-commerce is a very safe and convenient way of doing business.

Government's commitment to roll out e-government services has also helped in the increased take up. We are also seeing an increase in people paying their bills online, as well as shopping online, with www.di-ve.com becoming a very popular online shopping site. We are certain that this growth trend will continue over the coming years. maltaNET is committed to continue to live up to its corporate values of quality and innovation, even in this area of online commerce"

maltaNET is a leading Internet services company in Malta, offering a complete range of IP and web services. It is part of the Maltacom Group.
