The government’s online services were augmented today with the relaunch of the online certificates service, an eHealth portal and a scholarships website. An e-Government Services Directory was also announced.

Infrastructure and IT Minister Austin Gatt said that MITA, the government IT agency, is planning a new e-Government framework which will be simpler to use as it will streamline the user interfaces to these services. It will also be richer in content, more sophisticated in services and faster to set up

Following the recent attempted cyber attack on an embassies’ server, Dr Gatt praised the professional way in which MITA staff managed to neutralise the situation before any damage was done.
