As part of its commitment to facilitate the users' communication with the governmental entities, the eGovernment Authority currently offers more than 40 epayment services, with a volume of financial transactions reaching to more than BD55m.

The payment eservices are provided in collaboration with the governmental and private entities, through the eGovernment various channels: National Portal (Bahrain.bh), Mobile Gateway (bahrain.bh/mobile), eKiosks, eService Centers, and Mobile Applications.

The eGovernment Authority launched a promotional campaign offering the users who pay through eGA channels the chance to win iPad Mini, in an aim to encourage them to benefit from the epayment services on Bahrain.bh. The campaign starts from August, 20th and continue until September 20th, 2013.

"The idea behind launching this campaign was to promote the integrated payment services available on the eGovernment various channels, assuring the authority's commitment to provide the best quality of services," stated Dr. Zakareya Ahmed Al Khaja, Vice CEO, Acting CEO of the eGovernment Authority.

He also added, "Currently more than 40 epayment services are available on Bahrain.bh, 8 out of the forty are available on mobile gateway and eKiosks, and 2 as Mobile Applications."

"Based on the latest statistics report, received in August 1st, the total number of visits the eGovernment portal reached to 61.5 million, number of financial transactions is 801,108, with more than BD55.3m as volume of these transactions," Dr. Al Khaja further stated.

Among the governmental and private entities that offer its payment services on the eGovernment portal Bahrain.bh are: Electricity and Water Authority, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Justice and Islamic Affairs, Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Culture, University of Bahrain, in addition to United Insurance Company, and Zain.

Most of the epayment services used are: Pay Electricity and Water Bill, Payment of Traffic Contraventions, Driving License Renewal, New Vehicle Registration, Zain and VIVA eservices, Payment of Criminal Orders, Payment of Enforcement Files, Vehicle Registration Renewal, Issuance of Insurance Policies for King Fahad Causeway.

Dr. Alkhaja called upon the public, businessmen and expertise to benefit from the 285 eservices available through the various channels, and contact the eGovernment directly for any suggestions or assistance on the 24/7 National Contact Center (80008001), or through the Suggestions and Complaint System on Bahrain.bh, or via email, in addition to communicate through eGA social media accounts (eGov Bahrain) through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and eGovernment Blog.

Dr. Al Khaja also urged the public to visit the eGovernment Authority's pavilion located at the Bahrain City Center, to learn more about the payment eservices. The campaign starts from August 20th and shall continue to September 20th, 2013.

In 2009, the eGovernment Authority was licensed by the TRUSTe Privacy Seal Program. The privacy statement and practices of eGovernment Authority have been reviewed by TRUSTe for compliance with the program requirements including the Authority's adherence to transparency, accountability and access to options for users in relation to gathering, and use of personal information.
