The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, has commenced the Service-Wide Capacity Building on e-Government with the directorate cadres of the various ministries, extra-ministerial, department and agencies (MDAs) and state civil servants.

Batches A and B of employees on Grade Levels 15-17 had their training at the E-Government Training Centre, Public Service Institute of Nigeria (PSIN), Kubwa, Abuja from August 11 to 14.

During the exercise, chairman of the Governing Board, E-Government Training Centre and Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, stated that the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, had directed the board to train all civil servants nationwide on the initiative in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s quest for digitalisation of government activities.

A ministry statement, yesterday, quoted Abdullahi as saying a virtual platform exists for other public servants.

In his contribution, co-chairman of the board and Managing Director of Galaxy BackBone, Prof. Muhammed Bello Abubakar, said the programme was to boost service delivery and transparency in governance.
