The National Government Strategies (NeGSt) has concluded arrangements to train 30,000 civil servants on the implementation of the Government initiatives in Nigeria.

NeGSt Executive Vice Charrman, Dr Olu Agunloye told newsmen in Abuja Tuesday that the training would kick-off the eGovermnent project in ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs).

He said through the training, workers would be properly equipped to function in the new dispensation.

He said the e-Government initiative would fast track the federal government reforms agenda in all MDAs.

Agunloye said the training was organised based on the directives of President Olusegun Obasanjo that all civil servants must be computer literate and eCompliant.

He said the training was divided into three categories to address revenue collection and management, law enforcement and public order as well as basic guides for Government compliance.

He said officers in revenue collecting agencies would be trained on the ePayment initiatives aimed at assisting government to monitor and track its revenue collection.

Agunloye said epayment would bring about transparency and accountability in governance as well as proper documentation of government revenue profile.

He explained that the initiative would also allow various government revenue collecting agencies to concentrate on the discharge of their mandate, while the payments accruing to them would be centrally collected and monitored.

Agunloye said Nigeria would be launched into the emerging global cashless economy with the epayment initiatives.

At the end of the session, he added, government documents and businesses would be migrated into a national databank for effective monitoring and control.

The training, scheduled to commence on October 30, will hold in Abuja, Minna, Jos, Kaduna, Lagos, Gombe, Abakaliki, Akure and Calabar.
