Nigerian e-government project is a private-public joint venture initiative managed by Nigerian e-Government Strategies Limited (NeGSt)
Some of the e-government products in offer include e-immigration, e-procurement, payroll and pension administration, e-learning,e-diligence,e-statistics,e-Authentication, land management, e-Governance, e-tourism, JAMB portal, e-Kiosk, e-Nigeria gateway and document management.
The rest are e-Stamp, smart driver license and e-Health.
And for the implementation of each of the offering, the project alliance partners have been selected to provide and implement the solutions.
For instance, Intermarc Consulting would provide e-Stamp services, Chams e-Kiosk, HP-smart driver license and IBM eNigeria gateway.
However,Dr.Felix Obada, the Managing Director of NeGST said it has become imperative for the body to appoint top prominent governors, ministers and other government functionaries to monitor and oversee the implementation of various e-government products offering.Hence their appointment as the project champions.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo was selected as the champion for e-Authentication project,Minister for finance, Okonjo Iweala as e-Revenue champion, Minister of works,Seye Ogunlewe as e-Kiosk champion.
And for the implementation of the project at the state level, governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola of Osun State was appointed as champion for all the states in the West geo – political zone, Dr. Peter Odili for the East and South-South, while Saminu Turaki of Jigawa State becomes the champion for the whole of the North.
