China, Japan and South Korea information ministers signed arrangement on Monday in South Korean Jeju island on information and communication cooperation. According to the arrangement, Beijing, Tokyo and Seoul will cooperate in fields of the 3G and next-generation mobile communications, next-generation Internet, digital TV and broadcasting, network and information security, open source software, telecommunications service policies as well as the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

China and Japan mainly use the GSM (Global System for Mobile) in the mobile phone service, while South Korea use CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) system to develop handphone service.

As hacking and virus attacking on the Internet is more often these days, the three Asian countries agreed to exchange network and information security policies and mechanism as well as make joint responses to the hacking and virus and exchange of information, said the arrangement.

China will host the 2008 Beijing Olympics, which is to provide more opportunities for foreign investors. The three sides will cooperate in construction and enhancement of communications network, interned security, system integration and e-government during the big games.
