DSS, Ireland's largest privately-owned computer systems and services company, has announced that they have been awarded the contract to supply the technology platform behind the Local Government Computer Services Board “mobhaile” pilot project.

Mobhaile, which will form a key part of the ongoing eGovernment initiative, will provide a wealth of information of local relevance to citizens and businesses across the country. Mobhaile merges Geographical Information Systems (GIS) with information on communities, business and Government.

DSS has been working with the LGCSB for over three years and is the provider of their existing Storage Area Network (SAN) on which the data for the mobhaile pilot project will be held.

Established in 1985, DSS is part of the Codec group. It has annual revenues in excess of €40m and over 110 people are employed throughout Europe.
