An e-government service platform aimed at improving administrative efficiency was formally inaugurated Monday, with Premier Yu Shyi-kun presiding over the inauguration ceremony. Speaking at the ceremony, Yu said that the inauguration of the e-government service platform, initiated by the Cabinet-level Research, Development and Evaluation Commission (RDEC) , marks the first step in building a digital Taiwan. Through the platform, one-stop government services will be offered to the public, thereby upgrading administrative efficiency, Yu claimed. He voiced the hope that the establishment of the service platform will also help promote the concept of service-oriented government and accelerate the restructuring of the government's organization. For his part, RDEC Chairman Yeh Chun-jung said that organization restructuring and e-government are aimed at improving services to the public.
