RDEC Chairman Lin Chia-cheng said the purpose of the assessments is to improve the quality of public access to government Web sites through an open and fair competition under the auspices of the Executive Yuan.
All winners of the competition will be cited and awarded at an award ceremony for government agencies with outstanding public services to be held at the auditorium of the Chinese Petroleum Corp. in downtown Taipei on October 6.
Among the winners for outstanding Web site awards of the second category (agencies under ministerial levels) are the Kinmen National Park Administration, the Taipei National Administration, the Industrial Development Bureau, the National Health Insurance Bureau, the Taipei Civil Affairs Department, and the Kaohsiung City Environmental Protection Administration.
The winners of the third category (county and city governments) are the Taoyuan County Government, the Changhua County Government, and the Taichung City Government.
The cultural affairs bureaus of Taipei County, Kaohsiung County, and Taichung City, as well as the bureaus of education of Taipei City, Kaohsiung City, and Tainan City are cited for running the best cultural and educational Web sites.
