Internet usage in households and enterprises, Slovenia, 1st quarter 2008.

In the first quarter of 2008, 59% of households had access to the Internet, 50% of the households used broadband Internet access. In the first quarter of 2008, 58% of persons aged 10 to 74 used the Internet.

Use of advanced Internet services

34% of persons aged 10 to 74 years used the advanced communication services in the first quarter of 2008. Slightly fewer than one third of persons (29%) visited on-line forums, 24% of persons used instant messaging. 10% of persons telephoned or used video calls via webcam over the Internet.

In the first quarter of 2008, 41% of persons aged 10 to 74 years used the Internet for obtaining and sharing audiovisual content (e.g. music, films or video files). 27% of persons used the Internet for downloading or listening to music, 21% for watching web television.

Internet usage in enterprises, Slovenia, 1st quarter 2008

In the first quarter of 2008, 97% of enterprises with 10 or more persons employed had Internet access. 71% of enterprises had a website, 88% of enterprises used e-Government services. 60% of enterprises used e-Government services for treating an administrative procedure completely electronically. Perceived benefits of the implementation of ICT projects in the last two years

11% of enterprises with 10 or more persons employed estimated that the implementation of ICT projects in the last two years (e.g. new/updated website; new intranet site) significantly caused improvements regarding the reorganisation and simplification of work routine. 6% of enterprises answered that implementation of ICT projects in the last two years significantly influenced the release of resources (financial, labour).
