Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Atef Helmy along with the Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Dr Bassem Ouda, have witnessed the signing of a joint cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA) for development and technological modernisation.

The protocol aims to promote the CPA’s ability to respond to every citizen’s complaint, takes decisions at the appropriate time at all levels and facilitate services provided by CPA for citizens using IT tools.

The protocol comes in line with the government’s moves to enhance the efficiency of services provided to citizens, lay the foundation for developing government performance and improve monitoring and management, and reduce corruption.

The one-and-a-half year protocol, subject to renewal, aims to develop the technological systems at CPA, focusing on improved infrastructure and process automation.
