“The key process that we think will have impact on our operations is the whole concept, without going into details, of eGovernance. By eGovernance, we are saying we must move beyond the connectivity of certain institutions. The focus in the past has been on the connectivity of some schools,” he said.
The minister noted that the plan was to ensure that key government ministries that have public interface with the people are connected in the long term.
Cwele said some of the services that could be improved by introduction of e-Governance included the applications for smart IDs and licence disk renewals.
He said there would also be a focus on making sure that there was connectivity in schools, rural areas and informal settlements communities.
