Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) on Sunday organised a seminar in association with Oman’s Information Technology Authority at Holiday Inn Muscat Hotel to facilitate exchange of e-governance best practices and thought leadership between the two countries.

IDA International, the execution arm of IDA for public service ICT collaboration between Singapore and countries around the world, shared Singapore’s change management strategies in adopting and implementing e-governance.

The seminar also discussed how advancements in ICT are transforming daily operations of the public sector workforce, and explored ways to bring about greater efficiency and productivity in governance for better public service delivery.

Kevin Chan, centre director, Middle East Office, IDA said, “The relationship between Oman and Singapore is very close. In Singapore we have been experiencing e-government for the last 30 years. We have encountered challenges in the process and have also learnt from our faults. We are here to learn from Oman’s e-Government and also share our experience.”

IDA will be leading a delegation of five Singapore tech companies to showcase their high quality innovations at COMEX 2014, which begins on Monday. From secure mobile communications solutions that protect privacy on mobile devices to mobility solutions that allow for fleet and asset tracking, the Singapore companies will showcase cutting-edge technology that are in line with the key theme of this year’s COMEX - 'Mobility'.

We have led a strong line-up of some of Singapore’s leading tech companies to participate in this year’s COMEX. This reinforces our commitment to forge stronger partnerships between the two infocomm industries and contribute to developing the blueprint for Oman’s ICT development.”
