The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) and the Information Technology Authority (ITA) are looking at ways to enhance the e-governance capabilities in the Sultanate.

A meeting of officials of both the organisations was held on Sunday at Knowledge Oasis Muscat and was attended by NCSI chief executive officer HE Khalifa Bin Abdullah Al Barwani and ITA chief executive Salim Bin Sultan Al Ruzaiqi.

According to authorities, Al Barwani said that it was important to align all efforts towards the common goal of sharing knowledge and information among government entities for the Sultanate’s development.

“Both NCSI and ITA use sophisticated data management programmes and modern systems aiming at developing the level and value of information. Meetings such as this provide us with a forum for productive discussion and allow everyone to activate areas of co-operation between technical officials and administrators of both organisations to effectively develop the e-government capability.”

Senior officials of the two organisations also discussed ways to upgraded systems and programmes used in both organisations and look at mutually enhancing the e-governance capability.
