The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) of China opened a website to provide information on trade remedy here Friday.

At a press briefing, Gao Hucheng, vice minister of commerce, said along with the development of China's trade and economy, Chinese enterprises have suffered from more and more anti-dumplingcases. The opening of the website is a step of the MOC to transform the functions of the government so as to provide authoritative information to people timely and guide them to resolve problems properly, he said.

Wang Qinhua, director of the Bureau of Industry Injury Investigation under the MOC, briefed the press on the functions ofthe website.

According to Wang, the website serves as a platform of the e-government to provide information of the cases put on record, investigation and rewards of the official investigation organizations.

The website also provides information on rules and laws of trade remedy, current home and overseas trade situations, new research results and trade statistics, Wang said.

The website is "www.cacs.gov.cn" or "cacs.mofcom.gov.cn". It issponsored by the Bureau of Industry Injury Investigation and the Bureau of Fair Trade for Import and Export under the MOC.

Trade remedy includes a series of measures like anti-dumpling, anti-subsidies which are to change distorted trade. It is frequently used by members of the World Trade Organization.
