The Planning Department of Hong Kong has launched a new mobile application called ‘City Gallery App 2.0’ to enhance visitors’ experience when they visit the City Gallery.

Through interactive media exhibits, the five-storey City Gallery, with a floor area of over 3200 square metres, showcases Hong Kong’s major planning proposals and infrastructure projects and also presents visions of the city’s future developments.

The ‘City Gallery App 2.0’, an all-in-one information delivery and touring medium, has adopted indoor positioning technology to enable audio guided tours in English, Cantonese and Putonghua (Mandarin) for different exhibition zones.

Users of this application can also check the latest events , photos, videos and exhibitions of the City Gallery with link to the relevant images and video clips.

According to a spokesperson from the City Gallery, the team has been keeping up with advances in technology so as to provide their visitors with added conveniences. They hope that through this application, visitors’ touring experiences can be upgraded and transformed into creative, interactive and facilitating ones.

It is available on both iPhone and Android platforms. Users may search for “City Gallery” in the iPhone App Store or the Google Play Store for direct download.
