Transforming Government since 2001
Employees from Dubai Justice Department, Department of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Dubai Civil Defence have taken eEmployee exams at Dubai's Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).

"The eEmployee programme was designed by Dubai eGovernment in an effort to enhance computer competency of all government employees," said Mahmood Al Bastaki, Acting Director of eServices, Dubai eGovernment. "The increasing demand for the programme has created the need for an examination centre that has consistently high standards and state of the art facilities. Higher Colleges of Technology has all the equipment and staff needed to offer world-class examination facilities for government employees. We are confident that after acquiring the certificate, employees of government departments will have a better understanding of the various IT processes and systems that support Dubai eGovernment's eServices." eEmployee has been designed to provide computer skills to government employees through online and classroom training, leading to the ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) certification. Candidates who complete the exam get an eEmployee certificate from Dubai eGovernment and an ICDL Start certificate from UNESCO.

"The eEmployee training has considerably widened my knowledge of computers. Though I have been using computers for some time, the course helped me become skilled at advanced tools in Microsoft Excel, which will facilitate my work and enhance my productivity and performance," said Shaeb Ali Hatem Ahli, an employee from the Department of Justice.

Dubai eGovernment has tied up with major training institutes to deliver the training programme, which covered topics like Basic Concepts of computer, Using the PC and Managing Files, Word processing and Spreadsheets.

The dedicated portal (www.eemployee.ae) enables government employees to register and complete the course. Learners have the option of completing the eEmployee programme either online or through classroom training at designated training centres. Experts, who are well versed with Dubai eGovernment systems, deliver the classroom training.
