The Transportation Department at Dubai Municipality on Tuesday conducted a seminar to announce the launch of a new online enquiry system for Municipality vehicles.

Eng. Abdullah Al Shaibani Assistant Director General for Technical Services, Omar Bin Haider, Acting Director of Transportation Department, Adnan Al Hammadi, Head of Administrative Section in the Transportation Department and heads of other sections and units in the department participated in the seminar. In his opening speech, Al Shaibani pointed out the pioneering role of the Transportation Department in accomplishing the new online enquiry system for DM vehicles as well as other systems.

Bin Haider said "The new online enquiry system for DM vehicles launched by the Transportation Department goes along with the Municipality's policies and directives. It is also part of the continuous efforts of the Municipality to bring in development and offer excellent services and innovation to various organizational units in the civic body.

"With the launching of this project, the Transportation Department will be considered as one of the frontline departments to put into practice an online system. It becomes the second department in the Municipality after the Personnel Department, to implement such a project, which is being implemented with the close co-operation of the Information Technology Department."

Bin Haider said that the project has a number of objectives that include helping the Municipality in its march towards e-government, meeting the requirements of requests and enquiries from the customers within the least possible time, realizing the Municipality's aim of becoming a paperless administration, providing excellent service to customers by informing them about the maintenance schedules and expenditures and a host of information about the vehicles.

"In addition to informing the customers about the services offered by the Transportation Department, the online system also will ascertain the opinions and accept suggestions and complaints of the customers directly", he said.

The enquiry service also include queries about the expenses of maintenance and fuel and general services such as classification of vehicles, the type of emergency vehicles offered, suggestions and complaints and administrative services.

The seminar gave a detailed description on the methodology of using the online enquiry system for vehicles to the co-ordinators.
