he Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry has launched its website in a new image, within the frame of the Chamber's new vision and strategy, coinciding with the GITEX 2003 events.

DCCI launched its new identity on a press conference held by the Director General of DCCI last week. The website reflects the concept of the new identity, it carries a new logo, and it provides a string of electronic services that serve the business community and the Chamber's clients.

Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al Mutaiwee, the Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry, said : "The Chamber is considered the main axis of organizing business and trade activities in Dubai, as it gurantees the highest levels of services to its members and clients to elevate their productivity. It also assures the achievement accuracy and makes use of modern technologies as well as adding distinguished services for its members to go along with the latest development of the current era. We are happy because we are one of the first pioneers of the governmental organizations that were able to adopt applications complying with the initiative of E-Government".

He added: " From this concept, we are convinced that the necessity stipulates the use of all possible means to make this site developed and successful as it appears with this new image. Then it can be the front of Dubai to the world of trade and business. In addition it will exploit the latest applied techniques and add distinguished services for its members. It is also a step to accommodate the Chamber to enter a new phase of development that enables it to surpass its similar of other global chambers of commerce".

The website has been designed to fulfill the requirements of more than 65,000 companies and establishments. One the most important and outstanding electronic services that are offered by the Chamber, is issuing Certificates of Origin for companies and firms operating in Dubai, Jebel Ali Free Zone and other locations wherever the Chamber has a branch.

The latest statistical declarations released by the Chamber indicate that 42% of the total number of certificates issued have been submitted electronically.

The service of issuing the certificates of origin electronically is one of many listed electronic services available on the Chamber's website. It is also possible to book meeting and conference halls that are available at the Chamber's premises. Members are also able to register trade, economic events such as exhibitions, conferences and fora, besides the possibility of direct recognition of trade sectors activities, investment opportunities available locally and internationally.

The list of establishments, local and foreign companies located in Dubai, taht use these services has increased obviously day after day.

The website www.dcci.gove.ae comprises a comprehensive business directory, supported by a developed search engine that enables the site visitors to search effectively for data relevant to companies and establishments registered in Dubai Emirate.

The Director General of DCCI ascertained that the Chamber is about to launch another string of distinguished services via its electronic website such as legal consultations and other services.
