Furthermore, government departments are making considerable investments in improving their offerings of e-services - both internal and external - which is there for everyone of us to see, said Naresh Kothari, Managing Director, President and Founder of Dubai-headquartered Intertec Systems.
“The biggest challenge for the IT sector in the region is the non-availability of Quality Managers in the industry,” Kothari told Khaleej Times. “This, many a time, blurs the gap between good and bad service providers,” he added.
Set up in 1991, Intertec Systems is a provider of IT services delivering “high quality products and services”. The company is partner of over 25 leading IT companies for the region, of various technologies including big names such as Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft and HP.
The region’s IT industry has witnessed a sea of change in the last two decades, according to Kothari. “Customers have become more of partners over time. Today, most of the customers know what they want out of IT investment and have become more demanding and also able to select a vendor of choice,” he said.
“With the advent of the Internet, we now see the customer has put the reseller and the vendor on their toes. Due to this, there are a lot more of interactions from the vendor with the customer directly to educate them on their solutions.”
