He was received by Qassim Sultan, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and Hussein Nasser Lootah, Assistant Director General for Planning and Building Affairs. Sultan briefed the Ajman Municipality Chairman on Dubai Municipality's efforts in the fields of urban planning, e-Government, Geographic Information Systems, Dubai Metro, and the Thermal Insulation System.
He was also briefed about the Structural Plan of Dubai Municipality by Eng. Nasser Bushehab, Head of Planning Studies Section at the Planning and Survey Department, who explained to him the strategic plan of Dubai Municipality, urban planning systems, land uses, coordination among various local departments, and redesigning of the city's old areas.
Osama Al Safi, Head of Qualifying and Building Studies Section, explained the building licensing procedures as well as the monitoring and inspection of building activities in the city.
Later, Sheikh Rashid Al Nuaimi visited the Customer Service Centre and was briefed by Asma Al Jesmi, Head of the Centre, on the services provided to various customers of the municipality. At the Traffic Signals Control Centre, he was briefed by Eng. Salaheddin Al Marzouqi, Head of Traffic Techniques Unit, on the automatic system followed by the centre in managing and operating traffic signals.
Sheikh Rashid Al Nuaimi hailed the progress made by Dubai Municipality in the fields of planning and e-Government as well as the civic body's efforts in keeping abreast with the changes taking place in the society. Dubai city matches any international city in terms of planning and applying state-of-the-art systems, he said.
