The 54pc jump in the number of submissions to the National Suggestions and Complaints System “also known as Tawasul“ has been attributed to an increasing awareness among the public about "the benefits of using technology rather than traditional means of interacting with various government entities" by the e-Government Authority, which runs the service in co-ordination with the Bahrain Centre for Excellence and other government departments.
Since its "beta version" launch in July last year, Tawasul has received more than 2,729 submissions of which 2,351 were complaints, 187 suggestions and 191 enquiries.
It currently covers 23 government departments and ministries, ranging from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to the Education Ministry and the Health Ministry to the Northern Municipality.
Other entities, including the Muharraq Municipality, Capital Municipality and General Organisation for Social Insurance, are set to be signed up for the system in due course, an eGovernment Authority source said.
