Bahrain has welcomed the decision of UN official to establish a Regional Centre for Exchange of Know How and Expertise in Technology and e-Government here.

This was decided during a meeting held on Friday between Cabinet Affairs Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa with Director of Division for Public Administration and Development Management at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) Haiyan Qian and Inter-Regional Advisor on e-Government division Richard Kirby.

The proposal was made by the two United Nations officials on the sidelines of their participation in the Bahrain International e-Government Forum and Exhibition 2009 held last week.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Atiyatallah Al Khalifa underlined the existence of real partnership and cooperation between Bahrain and UNDESA.
