A new service to track letters and parcels online was launched by Bahrain Post yesterday. The new service is part of a new range Bahrain Post will be offering through the Bahraini e-Government Authority's national portal www.bahrain.bh.

The move is in line with its commitment to offer the best online services to citizens and residents under the Bahrain Vision 2030 initiative, said officials.

The Tracking of Postal Packages service will allow individuals, businesses and government organisations to easily track letters and parcels online, 24-hours-a-day, they said.

They can log onto the national portal, enter the package's 13-digit code, its type and then follow the on-screen instructions, said Bahrain Post assistant-undersecretary Shaikh Bader bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

He said the project would allow users to find out their package information instantly, including location and delivery date, as opposed to the old system which required calling a hotline and waiting to speak to a customer service representative.

Authority's marketing and awareness director Isa Abdulrahman said that they were pleased that Bahrain Post and its services were now a part of the wide range of e-Government services offered at the national portal.

"This is yet another step towards achieving a fully integrated national network of electronic government services of high quality," he said.
