The Indian state of Rajasthan has announced plans for 100 new e-government kiosks, as part of the US$90,000 'e-Mitra' project.

The 'e-mitra' project will establish e-government service delivery kiosks in towns as well as rural areas, providing access to local government services, as well as transactional facilities for bill payment. The counters in urban and rural areas will be referred to as 'Lokmitra' and 'Janmitra' respectively. The latter will also provide facilities for registering birth and death certificates and ration cards.

The project is being overseen by Rajasthan's Information Technology Department.
