Bharat Future City, envisioned as India’s first Net-Zero Smart City, is set to redefine urban development with world-class infrastructure, sustainable practices, and cutting-edge industries.
The project is being guided by the Future City Development Authority (FCDA), established through G.O.Ms.No.69 dated March 12, 2025.
Spread over 765 sq. km., Bharat Future City will cover 56 revenue villages across three Assembly constituencies and seven mandals in Rangareddy district. The FCDA is presently functional with 36 sanctioned regular posts and 54 outsourced services. Its primary goal is to ease the growing population pressure on Hyderabad while creating new economic hubs and employment opportunities.
The government has issued administrative sanction for the construction of the FCDA headquarters at Mirkhanpet in Kandukur Mandal, Rangareddy district, at an estimated cost of Rs.19 crore. The technical sanction was cleared by the Engineer-in-Chief, Public Health, on September 17, 2025. The foundation stone for the new office has been laid on a 7.29-acre site, with the building covering 2.11 acres and a total built-up area of 16,393 sq. ft.
The facility will not only house modern administrative spaces but also feature a unique Experience Center to showcase Bharat Future City’s planning concepts, innovative infrastructure models, and sustainable growth practices. This center will serve as a platform for citizens, investors, and stakeholders to engage with the vision of Telangana’s cities of tomorrow.
Bharat Future City will be developed on the “Live, Learn, Work, Play” model, integrating industries, schools, hospitals, shopping centers, parks, and residential townships into a single urban ecosystem. It is also being planned as a Net-Zero Carbon City, with sponge parks, urban forests, zero-discharge water systems, and a 15,000-acre reserved forest acting as the city’s “green lungs.”
Key focus sectors include life sciences, healthcare, education, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, electronics, knowledge-driven industries, and eco-tourism.
Connectivity will be strengthened through Radial Road No.1, a 41.5 km stretch linking the Outer Ring Road and Regional Ring Road with Metro Phase II-B, and the East–West Trunk Road, connecting Srisailam Highway and Nagarjuna Sagar Road. Toll-free single-flow travel routes, integrated industrial zones, and logistics hubs are also part of the master plan.
The city is expected to generate lakhs of jobs, transforming Telangana into an innovation and investment hub. Partnerships are being pursued with the World Bank, JICA, and other international agencies to bring global expertise and funding.
The upcoming FCDA building reflects the government’s commitment to global standards, sustainability, and efficient governance. It will include modern conference halls, board rooms, collaboration spaces, EV charging stations, advanced safety systems, solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and biophilic design for natural ventilation and light.
The project aims to reinforce Telangana’s image as a state committed to planned growth, innovation, and inclusive development.
