Senior BJP leader and MLA Bahu constituency, Vikram Randhawa, asserted that the ongoing Smart City Project will soon transform Jammu into a model city that sets a benchmark for urban development across the nation.
He made these remarks during a tour of Bahu constituency, where he kick-started various developmental works worth Rs 2.5 crore under the Smart City Mission in presence of JMC Commissioner Devansh Yadav. The projects included significant upgrades to infrastructure, such as improved drainage systems, road development and installation of smart lighting.
Addressing the gathering, Randhawa said that the works inaugurated today are part of the broader Smart City initiative aimed at the holistic transformation of Jammu. He emphasized that the project reflects the vision of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who has consistently prioritized urban development and modernization.
Randhawa highlighted that the implementation of the deep drainage network and other related works will resolve long-standing issues faced by the residents, particularly those related to water stagnation and health hazards. He further informed that the Smart City Project encompasses multiple works currently underway and more in the pipeline, ensuring a comprehensive upliftment of the City of Temples.
The MLA expressed gratitude to the officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for their cooperation and commitment to ensuring timely and quality execution of these projects. He also interacted with local residents, addressing their concerns and assuring them of further developmental initiatives.
Randhawa reiterated that the BJP remains steadfast in its commitment to the welfare and progress of the people, with a focus on delivering results on the ground through flagship schemes like the Smart City Mission.
