The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is taking a closer look at its e-challan system and a meeting was conducted to study the system by the Smart City Ahmedabad Development Limited (SCADL).

A new process is being implemented to analyze traffic flow and issue e-challan. According to a senior AMC official, the new AI-powered analysis will include the number of vehicles passing through individual junctions.

“Most of our junction timing cycles are set manually. If we were to collect a larger data set and the density of traffic from each junction on particular days, we may be able to study a traffic pattern. This can be used to adjust our timers,” the official said.

Another aspect that is being looked at is the list of repeat offenders.

“The data on vehicles flagged for multiple challans within the last month will be examined,” the official said.
