The State government has launched the process of establishing permanent Aadhaar enrolment centres at Nada Kacheris, including Karnataka One, Bengaluru One, Mysuru One, Belagavi One, here on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated a permanent Aadhaar enrolment centre at Mysuru One in Gokulam third stage at a programme organised by the Unique Identification Authority of India, Regional Office, Bengaluru and Karnataka Resident Data Hub, Centre for e-Governance, e-Governance Department, Government of Karnataka.

In his address, Mr. Siddaramaiah said permanent Aadhaar enrollment centres would be opened in 872 Nada Kacheris in the first phase and 6,000 gram panchayats (GPs) in the second phase.

He urged those who had been previously left out of Aadhaar enrollment, to get enrolled at these centres as the government subsidies had been linked to Aadhaar and transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said 78 percent of the State’s population had been covered under Aadhaar and the remaining 22 percent was necessary to be covered.

On the occasion, Mr. Siddaramaiah handed over Aadhaar cards to those enrolled at the permanent Aadhaar centre.

Minister in-charge of Mysuru district V. Sreenivas Prasad, MLA Vasu, Mayor R Lingappa and others were present.
