D V Sadananda Gowda gives his thumb impression for Aadhaar card.At the programme held at Yavanika, Gowda said: “Thirteen districts in the State already have the enrolment centres. The remaining districts will start the process by the end of August.”
He added that it is a matter of pride for Kannadigas that the person heading the UIDAI, Nandan Nilekani is a Kannadiga. Mysore and Tumkur districts have around 95 percent of people enrolled within a span of eight months.
The chief minister hopes to achieve the same figure in Bangalore by March 2012. Turuvekere in Tumkur already holds the record of 100 percent enrolment.
T Prabhakara, Project Director, Centre for e-Governance, told Deccan Herald that corporate companies, tech parks, colleges and institutions will have their own centres from August 22.
