The Jharkhand principal secretary of IT, R.S. Sharma, today said the state government has put e-governance on priority list to penetrate into rural areas with information communication technology.
Sharma was speaking at Infocom, an initiative of Businessworld, an ABP Group publication which also publishes The Telegraph, on “improving citizen service delivery through IT-enabled government”. More than 1,000 delegates participated at the four-day conference and exhibition at Salt Lake in Calcutta.
In his half-an-hour presentation, Sharma said how IT made governance simple with a focus on transparency in the past five years. “We have created an exhaustive database of government records of the past 36 years which can be accessed online,” Sharma said.
