The government has decided to set up Jan Suvidha Kendras (Public Facilitation Centres) in all districts for the purpose, official sources said.
‘It has been decided to make this initiative the foundation for e-governance in the state,’ an official said.
Under the programme, applications from people regarding issuance of a variety of certificates, permissions and licences from the administration would be received through a single window at these centres.
The proposed centres would handle issues relating to provision of resident certificates, caste certificates, marriage registration certificates, birth certificates, registration for establishment of shops, building construction licenses, attestation of documents, duplicate copies of ration cards, driving learning license, temporary transport permit, temporary power connection and the like.
The applicants would be given the necessary guidance about their applications so that the documents they require can be issued the same day.
‘Facilities such as preparing affidavits would also be made available to people at these centres,’ the official said.
After the implementation of the scheme at the district level, it would be extended to sub-districts and development blocks.
