The secretary in the ministry of company affairs, Ms Komal Anand, has called upon corporate houses and business professionals in the state to switch over to electronic mode of services set by the ministry of company affairs for secure filing of their annual returns and accessing data to suit their needs, for quicker and friendly services.

Addressing a gathering of professionals here this afternoon after the launch of MCA21 (e-governance project) for the Registrar of Companies, Goa, Daman and Diu, here, Ms Anand said that this facility will help the stakeholders get anytime, anywhere services.

The facility launched in Goa, which is fifth in the country, will become operational tomorrow. The project has been completed within 60 weeks from signing agreement with Tata Consultancy Services, she added.

Besides, the new facility will help on-line registration of new companies, fast retrieval and viewing of public documents, better compliance to company statutes, said the Union government official adding that the new system will help elimination of repetitive data, with the use of e-forms.

She also said that National Data Centre will provide uninterrupted 24x7 services and that there was a disaster recovery mechanism with a facility to re-start operations within half-day in event of natural or man-made disaster.

Over 50 physical front offices located all over the country will provide facilitation services for e-filing, she said adding that nearly 6 crore pages of legacy corporate documents would digitised for electronic access through Internet.

With the switch-over to the new system the governments intends to bring in greater efficiency and transparency in the functioning of the ministry and the corporate houses, said the Union government official adding that relevant records would now be available for public for redressal of their grievances.

She also said that MCA21 project was part of the Union government’s move to bring in a speedier and efficient delivery system to make India a globally competitive competitive environment for “Doing Business in India” in a simple and hassle-free manner.

Ms Anand further said that Union government has already taken steps to revise the old Companies Act and bring in other new legislations in tune with present day requirements and also make other changes to position the country among top 10 business friendly nations in the world.

Under the new system professionals would be be able to offer efficient services to their client companies and financial institutions to easily find registration and verification charges easily. Besides MCA will also be able to ensure pro-active and effective compliance of relevant laws and corporate governance.

Earlier, Mr V Srinivasa Rao, regional director of MCA, gave the welcome address, while Mr G K Purwar, the registrar of companies proposed vote of thanks.

Mr Sandeep Bhandare, president of chartered accountants body in Goa compered the programme and also spoke on the occasion. A demonstration on new facility was also held on the occasion.
