Mahmood said problems in implementation of the system at Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex and the Tanjong Kupang CIQ in Gelang Patah had been resolved by the ministry.
He refuted allegations that the implementation had resulted in traffic congestions at both points of entry to the country during the period.
Biometric is a system of scanning the fingerprint, which takes about one minute, of foreign nationals entering the country by land or sea.
The system will be implemented at all entry points beginning the end of this month in an effort to curb cross-border criminal activities involving foreigners.
