Transforming Government since 2001
MY E.G. Services Bhd (MYEG) is set to collaborate with Kazakhstan company National Information Technologies JSC (NIT) to introduce e-government services to the republic this year in its first overseas venture.

MYEG, which is Malaysia’s e-government services provider since 2000, intends to leverage its extensive local experience to assist NIT in building the Kazakhstan national information technology infrastruture.

MYEG executive chairman Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad said she was excited by the opportunities presented by this collaboration, given that it marked the company’s first venture overseas.

“We hope this mutually-beneficial venture would result in a substantial source of additional revenue from overseas for MYEG and diversify our earnings base in the long run,” she said.

NIT is the appointed “National Operator for Informationisation” by the Kazakhstan government, providing official registration and support to domain names of government agencies and institutions, as well as to those affiliated with the implementation of the projects.

“We believe that this augurs well for a successful venture, given our experience and technology combined with NIT’s core competencies,” Norraesah added.

Both companies signed a memorandom of understanding with NIT at the World Islamic Economic Forum yesterday.

It was witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Kazakhstan president Nursultan Abishuly Nazarbayev.
