“Group revenues in the fourth quarter were another record high for the group, strongly indicating the increasing acceptance of online e-government transactions amongst the public. The financial year 2010 has proven to be yet another successful year for us in bringing a higher level of convenience for public transaction with the government,” said its executive chairman Datuk Dr Norraesah Mohamad in a press statement.
“This would definitely spur both MYEG as well as government ministries and agencies to work hand-in-hand to embark on more initiatives to introduce more e-government services online to increase the efficiency of public services delivery,” she added.
For the three-month period ended June 30 (4Q10), group revenues jumped 24.2 per cent to RM17.1 million from RM13.8 million previously, while group net profits rose significantly by 41.3 per cent to RM5.8 million from RM4.1 million in the fourth quarter last year.
From a larger perspective, MYEG recorded compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 34.6 per cent in group revenues from the financial year 2007 to financial year 2010, while group net profits demonstrated faster CAGR of 43.5 per cent in the same period.
Norraesah elaborated that the group was committed to being an integrated e-government services provider with improving service levels for the public.
An example was the ability of the MYEG portal to facilitate payment of summonses from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), thus providing a hassle-free user experience.
She further said, “Our e-government services portal is part of the necessary infrastructure to enable the country move forward in the era of information technology. The MYEG portal was developed with scalability in mind, so as to manage more transactions and increased services in the long run.”
“Such integrated services would certainly be a high-convenience factor for the public, and would place Malaysia on track towards higher transparency and efficiency,” concluded Norraesah.
