Evansville Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel and Vanderburgh County Board of Commissioners President Catherine Fanello announced Thursday, the release of the new City-County website.

"We are pleased to release this new website," said Mayor Weinzapfel. "It is markedly more user friendly and visually appealing." Other improvements to the website include a more intuitive search function, more dynamic home pages, representation by all departments and a consolidated location for news items.

Comissioner Fanello commented, "This website represents a great deal of work by many people. While we are glad to be at this point, the next phase of the sites development will be even more exciting as we extend the number of e-government services like paying bills and applying for permits."

During the second phase of the City-County website development, users will be provided with the ability to apply online for building permits, access public court data, and make comments to government officials via an online survey tool.
