US: Florida: City of West Palm Beach and IKE Smart City Launch Innovative Interactive Digital Kiosks

In partnership with IKE Smart City, the City of West Palm Beach will proudly announce the official launch of its first IKE (Interactive Kiosk Experience) kiosks at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 8, 2025. The launch marks a significant step in the City’s ongoing commitment to connectivity, innovation, and public access to information for both residents and visitors.
“We are excited to launch IKE in West Palm Beach, a thriving city that has become synonymous innovation and opportunity,” said Jibran Shermohammed, Vice President of Development & Corporate Counsel of IKE Smart City. “The IKE network will enliven sidewalks throughout West Palm Beach, showcase local artists, and support small businesses with free directory listings.”
West Palm Beach joins more than 20 forward-thinking cities nationwide that have embraced innovative technology at no cost to the City or its taxpayers. The interactive kiosks offer real-time, location-based information to help navigate the city, discover local businesses, and access critical resources.
These sleek, ADA-accessible kiosks are strategically located in high-traffic pedestrian areas and offer real-time, location-based information to help users explore downtown, discover local businesses, and access essential services.
“As our downtown continues to thrive as a hub for residents, businesses, and visitors alike, we are excited to introduce smart city technology that connects people in meaningful ways,” said West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. “These interactive kiosks are modern-day guides that enhance mobility, share critical city updates, and elevate the overall experience of being in West Palm Beach. With this launch, we’re reaffirming our commitment to innovation, access, and building a truly people-first city.”
IKE brings cutting-edge technology to pedestrian-friendly areas, offering advanced wayfinding tools through smart city kiosks. Each ADA-accessible kiosk features dual-sided touchscreens and interactive apps, providing multilingual, hyper-local information to help people explore the area. In addition to proximity-based directions, the kiosks display real-time transit information, local events, nearby dining options, and public safety alerts. Beyond navigation, the kiosks offer free public WIFI and display public art, community messages, and critical safety information.
The partnership between the City of West Palm Beach and IKE Smart City reflects the City's ongoing efforts to integrate innovative, data-driven tools into its public infrastructure. As part of a broader smart city strategy, this initiative supports the City's goals around accessibility, public engagement, digital equity, and economic vitality.
