Presently, ACE offers two different applications. The first application permits State employees to register and receive their W2 forms via the Web and receive electronic notice at a registered email address once their W2 has been posted. Accordingly, State employees have the ability to access their W2s at an earlier date thus enabling them to file their income tax returns earlier. DFA employees use this application to electronically administer all W2 corrections and re-issues and to archive employee records. ACE is tied directly to the State's legacy payroll system, eliminating the need for creating special "one-off" manual production jobs. This functionality reduces the time required to manage requests for costly reprints or re-issues. ACE also grants employees who are paid by direct deposit the ability to receive payroll advices electronically. Employees are notified by e-mail when their pay stubs arrive and can review payment information prior to payday. Employees will now know exactly when their direct deposit is expected to hit their account. This service is particularly valuable to those individuals tracking the timing of travel reimbursements.
