Labor has updated the site three other times, adding more benefit programs each time. This update, though, is the first site overhaul.
Project leaders added a link to a Spanish version of the portal, as well as a partner room that provides information to federal, state and local government entities interested in listing their benefits, and a more expansive press room page.
Some of the new programs include the Treasury Department’s tax counseling for the elderly, the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s adjustable rate mortgages and the Veterans Affairs’ home-based primary care.
“These enhancements to GovBenefits.gov are a direct response to citizen feedback we have received about this site,” said Patrick Pizzella, assistant secretary for administration and management and the department’s CIO, in a statement.
