The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation today announced the launch of the new online parks reservation system that allows visitors to make reservations for inns and cabins at several Tennessee State Parks. Falls Creek Falls, Montgomery Bell, Pickwick Landing, Henry Horton, Natchez Trace, and Paris Landing State Resort are the parks that are now accepting online reservations through www.TennesseeAnytime.org, the state's official Web site.
"This system will open great opportunities for our state parks," said Milton H. Hamilton, Jr., Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation Commissioner. "With the click of a mouse, Tennesseans and visitors can now reserve an inn room or cabin at one of these six beautiful parks in a matter of minutes."
The online reservation system lets visitors reserve up to nine inn rooms or two cabins at a time. Once users select the dates they wish to reserve, they can choose from a list of available inns and cabins for that specific time period. The system will show everything from the rates to type of beds available.
There is no additional fee for making a reservation. The application requires users to make a one-night room deposit per room with a credit card, and the remaining rental fee is collected at the time of check-in. MasterCard, Visa, Diners Club, American Express, or Discover deposits are processed through TennesseeAnytime's secure payment server. Once a reservation is completed, the system will issue a confirmation number.
Other state parks with campsite and golf course amenities will be added to the online reservation system in the future. Currently, 35 state parks in Tennessee have campgrounds that offer more than 2,900 campsites.
More than 30 million people visit and stay at Tennessee's 53 State Parks each year. The Tennessee State Park system's properties offer a wide range of facilities and amenities, including resort inns, cabins, villas, and meeting and banquet rooms.

The Tennessee State Park reservation system was cooperatively developed and is supported by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, the Department of Finance and Administration, and TennesseeAnytime, a wholly owned subsidiary of eGovernment provider NIC (Nasdaq:EGOV) that manages the state's official Web site.
