Starting June 2012, people with a Trusted Profile will be able to access a number of social security services through PUE, the eServices platform of the Social Insurance Institution (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych - ZUS, in Polish). These services include submitting applications and documents online and gaining access to data recorded in one's individual social security account.

Thanks to a Trusted Profile, a free form of electronic signature available through the platform ePUAP, it will be possible not only to log in to PUE, the new system of the Social Insurance Institution (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych - ZUS, in Polish), but also to handle official matters. The Trusted Profile will confirm the identity of a citizen when submitting applications and documents online or making payments.

Another tool for logging in to PUE is an electronic signature verified by a qualified certificate.

Persons who do have neither of these forms of signature will be able to log in to the platform after confirming their identity in person in one of the ZUS offices. They will then gain online access to the data recorded in their personal ZUS accounts, however without the benefit of eServices.

PUE is a portal through which anyone will be able to deal with the Social Insurance Institution online. The system will allow submitting eDocuments, accessing one's online account, and contacting Social Security employees via chat or Skype. Using the platform, it will also be possible to pay the contributions - the system automatically redirects to one's bank account. Companies employing fewer than 100 employees, which are currently obliged to use a software called 'Płatnik' will also be able to use PUE.

The Trusted Profile is a free electronic signature thanks to which citizens can settle administrative matters electronically. In order to obtain a Trusted Profile one will first need to create an account on eGovernment portal ePUAP (the electronic Platform of Public Administration Services) and submit an application for this account to gain the Trusted Profile status. The next step is to authenticate the profile in one of the designated offices (this requires a one-time visit at the appropriate point), a list of which is available on the ePUAP platform. Once their data has been checked based on the ID card they presented at the office's desk, the account established on the ePUAP portal will gain the status of a Trusted Profile status.
