On 31 May 2011, the Spanish Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration unveiled to the Andalusian public the second phase of a promotion and awareness-raising campaign entitled '@dministración. Todos los servicios en tu mano' ('@dministration. All services in reach', in English).

This phase, launched nation-wide in March 2011 is planned to run until November of the same year. It is aimed at giving a further boost to the use of public eServices among citizens and businesses. The public presentation in the Autonomous Community (Region) of Andalusia was given in the city of Almería by Ms. Consuelo Rumí, the State Secretary for the Public Service.

The campaign consists of a national programme of over 2 000 days of presentations where citizens will be explained in practical terms the various opportunities that public eService offer. In Andalusia alone, 240 events will be held in all provincial capitals for about a month.

The promotional events will take place in electronic identity card (DNIe) release offices and traffic headquarters. A team of trainers will show the public the advantages of using the more than 2 300 central government services that are accessible by electronic means, i.e. 99 % of central government services. Attendees will be taught how to use eGovernment portal www.060.es where all available public eServices are arranged by theme and by target groups.

As part of the campaign, over 100 000 DNIe readers will be distributed nation-wide and 140 000 information leaflets disseminated. Furthermore, online announcements will be placed on the pages of the main Internet search engines and promotional shows broadcasted by TV channels in Barcelona and Madrid and the Spanish State Lotteries.

The event in Almería was an occasion to highlight the eGovernment figures of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia. According to the National Statistics Institute, in 2010 approximately 1.5 million citizens residing in Andalusia used electronic means to communicate with the public authorities. Of these citizens, 45.5 % retrieved information on government websites, 25.5 % downloaded official forms and 18.7 % returned filled in forms. As for Andalusian businesses, in 2009 more than 65 % of them interacted with the public authorities online: 58.7 % obtained information by electronic means; 60.5 % downloaded official forms; 45 % sent online the completed forms.

It is also worth noting that 21 million DNIe have already been issued all over the country. They constitute one of the pillars of Spanish eGovernment and will ensure that procedures and transactions with the public authorities are confidential and secure, according to the press release of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Administration.
