After logging into their personal pages with their NemID, citizens can access the 'My Health Summary' service which allows them to have an overview of their health information that has been gathered from various health sources. This information includes: medical prescriptions, hospital stays, electronic health records, status of test results, organ donation and living wills.
Likewise, via My Page, citizens can order new health cards or change General Practitioners (GPs) online, among other self-service solutions. In addition, in the citizen portal's 'Health and illness' section, users can also obtain answers to their questions about the Danish healthcare system.
This is the result of fruitful collaboration between Borger.dk and Sundhed.dk, the national eHealth portal. Commenting on this cooperation, Sunhed.dk Director Morten Elbæk Petersen said: "Sundhed.dk delivers the most relevant health information to Borger.dk based on the relationship that Sundhed.dk has with the healthcare partners." He explained that this merger allows citizens to benefit from the best service and stressed how easy it is to find answers to all frequently asked questions on the citizen portal.
Jimmy Kevin Pedersen, Head of the National IT and Telecom Agency, Citizen Communications Office said: "Borger.dk offers everything in one place. This means that citizens can find information, use self-service solutions and view on My Page what personal information the public authorities hold about them".
He added: "The fact that citizens have access to their personal health data on My Page is another step towards a page with personal details that can really be used for anything. Therefore, we are also very pleased to collaborate with Sundhed.dk."
One of the most visited areas of the portal so far is the health card ordering service which details the application procedure and informs citizens of their application's status. The section 'Physician choice' is also expected to become popular; it combines information about the doctors to choose from and makes it possible to have a change of GP recorded.
