Denmark was just elected for one of the coveted European digital awards eEurope Awards.

Under the name of EID – Electronic Invoicing in Denmark – Denmark won in the category Transformation for Danish electronic invoicing.

Claus Juhl, managing director of Økonomistyrelsen (Agency for Financial Management and Administrative Affairs), is behind the Danish e-invoicing, writes Computerworld:

“That we won today shows both that Denmark is on the cutting edge with digital solutions – and that it pays to be up front. E-invoicing is based on a EU standard and it encourages us to try to make e-invoicing a common European solution. If this turns out successfully it will be a competitive advantage for Danish companies”.

He adds that the award, moreover, has induced the Økonomistyrelsen to make more digital projects.

Four prizes were awarded in four categories: enabling eGovernment, Transformation, Businesses and citizens, and Impact.
