THE development of a new Internet facility which simplifies the ordering of cattle ear tags has been welcomed by Ian Pearson, Parlimanentary Under Secretary of State with responsibility for Agriculture and Rural Development.
The Virginia Department of Health is now providing on-line web access to the database of restaurant violations issued by inspectors to licensed dining facilities throughout Virginia including nearly 200 food establishments in Wise County and Norton.

On the first anniversary of GovBenefits.gov, Rep. Adam Putnam (R-Fla.) yesterday praised the Labor Departments portal as an e-government model other agencies should follow.
The Construction Industries Division of the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department has teamed with a Dublin, California e-government firm to develop a Web-based system that will allow online permit applications and tracking of construction projects.

The Office of Management and Budget will allocate $500,000 of its $5 million e-government fund to hire a contractor to assess cross-agency collaboration and consolidation in six government lines of business: financial management, human resources, data and statistical development, public health information, criminal investigations and public-health monitoring.
