Österreich: Innenausschuss stimmt neuem Passgesetz zu
Österreichische Reisepässe werden künftig mit einem Chip versehen, auf dem das Passfoto und alle wesentlichen Passdaten elektronisch gespeichert sind. Eine entsprechende Gesetzesvorlage der Regierung wurde heute vom Innenausschuss des Nationalrats mit VP-SP-F-Mehrheit gebilligt. Damit will Österreich die Fälschungssicherheit von Reisepässen erhöhen und kommt gleichzeitig der EU-Verpflichtung nach, biometrische Merkmale in den Reisepass aufzunehmen. Neu ist darüber hinaus, dass das Lichtbild des Passinhabers nicht mehr in den Pass geklebt, sondern hineingedruckt wird.

The Prison Service will be the first national government agency to establish organisation-wide shared administrative functions when the Phoenix system goes live this spring.
Under the £180m scheme to centralise finance and procurement, prisons will move to the system at a rate of eight institutions per week, HM Prisons head of shared services Steve Hodgson told a conference in London.
