Managing Director of Aras Free Trade Zone said here Tuesday, "Thanks to completing a Comprehensive Infrastructure Telecom Plan at over 11 hectares of Aras FTZ this zone would be fully governed by electronic government in next two to three years.

Ali Jalili pointed out that a memorandum of understanding has been signed between Aras DTZ and the TCI's Research Center, adding, "Phone calls, IT services, and wideband switching based on most updated international standards are among the services to be offered at our FTZ based on the MOU."

Despite the obstacles on the way of utilization and management of the information and communications technology (ICT), gaining access to the latest findings and approaches in the sector is of crucial necessity, said Iranian President Khatami, adding that neglecting the technology would mean ignoring one's share of the modern science and technological progress, according to MNA.

Khatami, speaking at a national conference on ICT development and management held in Tehran, added, "I am sure that announcement of the results and achievements of the first ICT development program could create hope and promise for further steps in this regard."
