The UAE Minister of State for Finance and Industry, H.E. Mohammed Khalfan bin Khirbash, said that promoting greater private sector involvement in economic activity and promoting a stronger partnership with the public sector means that the government must be able to match the efficiency that it demands of the private sector.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has set up an intranet system to fast track the process of issuing group visas to companies, said a senior official yesterday.

Ahmed Kajoor, Assistant Undersecretary of the ministry, said the system which will be launched within a week or two will stop misplacement of applications for group visas and facilitate processing and controlling of visas.

October marks the second anniversary of Dubai Municipality's interactive website which is continuing to expand.

Some 56 e-services are now provided to residential and business customers, as well as a directory of services carrying information about 263 services. The site, www.dm.gov.ae, was launched in October 2001.
